(Rockland, Maine) Where can one find a delectable meal, knowing that every forkful of delightful decadence is dipped in generosity? Where might one experience a veritable feast of gourmet delights, where every morsel is sprinkled with a sense of community support and social responsibility?



Blunch at Café Miranda, of course!



On May 4, the culinary crusaders at Café Miranda will be dishing up the popular restaurant’s best to benefit student programs at Herring Gut Learning Center, a not-for-profit school in Port Clyde specializing in hands-on learning through aquaculture and marine science. The delicious event will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the restaurant, which is located at 15 Oak Street, just off Main Street in beautiful downtown Rockland.

Kerry Altiero, Evelyn Donnelly And Evan Altiero, owners of Café Miranda, started their For the Kids brunches in 2007 to raise funds for local non-profit organizations and raise awareness of the work they are doing with youth. Past participants of the program include the Riley School, Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center, YouthLinks, Kiwanis Club and the Rockland fire and police departments.



Herring Gut Learning Center programs use aquaculture and marine science as a launch pad for teaching concepts in science, math, and literacy to students from participating school districts across the Midcoast. Working closely with the center’s dedicated staff in the school’s oyster hatchery, trout facility and aquaponics greenhouse, students make important connections between classroom concepts and their practical application, developing a better understanding of marine ecology and sustainable food production along the way.



Whether you choose to sample some scrumptious seafood or decide to keep both feet planted firmly on land, you won’t find a tastier way to support local education. So, come one come all, ye lovers of food and fish and fine victuals, and experience the power of Blunch!

NO KIDDING! We BURNED! GRAND Re-opening week was a long shindig!
We started with a fund raiser Sunday breakfast/lunch on the 28th for the Rockland Fire department & the Rockland Police Department. We will finished with the week 's events with another benefit for the same folks on the 4th. Without these competent & caring folks our Miranda would be a heap of ashes.
Additionally we raised more $ every day that week by asking customers to show up in a in a flame themed suit or bring us a flame themed trinket and got 10% of your meal's price donated to the aforementioned Charities

PARKING: Free, huge, and right outside our door, all thoughtfully maintained by the City of Rockland.
